Ordering clothes online is easier when you know your measurements. All you need is a soft measuring tape and a few minutes.
What you need
A flexible tape measure, a mirror and light clothing. Stand straight and relaxed, and keep the tape snug but not tight.
The key measurements
- Chest: raise your arms slightly and measure around the fullest part of your chest, across your shoulder blades.
- Waist: measure around your natural waistline, just above the belly button.
- Hips: measure around the fullest part of your hips.
- Length: measure down the back from the base of the collar to where you want the garment to end.
- Inseam: for trousers, measure from the top of your inner thigh to your ankle.
Use the size chart
Compare your numbers with the size chart on the product page. Measurements on charts are usually in inches or centimetres, so check which one is used.
Between two sizes?
For a fitted style, choose the smaller size if you like a close fit and the larger size if you want more room. For loose or oversized styles, your usual size is normally fine.
